Trump Ignores Crypto, Coinbase Faces SOL Drama

Trump’s 1st Day saw him skip any talk of crypto in his executive orders, leaving markets disappointed. Still, MicroStrategy stepped in with a $1.1 billion BTC buy, adding 11k BTC, and weekly inflows hit $2.2 billion. Meanwhile, Coinbase faced backlash for delayed SOL transactions, adding to FUD in the Solana ecosystem despite Raydium buybacks and Hyperliquid’s record volumes.

The ETH Foundation pledged 50k ETH for DeFi, but ETH/BTC is at a 4-year low, and Ross Ulbricht’s release adds a positive note.

Pro-Crypto Moves & Institutional ActivityPro-crypto regulators Uyeda and Pham took acting roles at the SEC and CFTC, respectively. Rumble made its first BTC purchase, El Salvador added $1.2M in BTC, and WLF quietly bought $113M in coins. Meetings between Saylor, Marathon execs, and Trump’s team hint at a possible crypto agenda.

Macro: Tariffs, Debt, and DOGE Drama

Crypto Market Madness:

The last couple of days were wild. Trump Memecoins, BTC Hit $109K as Solana surged.

The odds of BTC becoming part of global reserves have spiked to 60%, and BTC ETFs saw a massive $976 million inflow.

Ethereum is slightly down to $3,335, while Solana stole the show, surging 18% to $255 and hitting an ATH of $295, driven by record-breaking DEX volume and TVL highs.

The real drama? Trump and Melania dropped memecoins. TrumpCoin briefly flipped DOGE in FDV, while MelaniaCoin exploded to a $10 billion market cap, dominating trading volume and sending most altcoins into the red. But RAY continues to defy the trend, flipping Tether for fees two days in a row. Meanwhile, Eric Trump hinted at major news for WLF following its presale and a $48 million ETH buy, keeping the Trump family firmly in the crypto spotlight. Meanwhile, Cruz is pushing to overturn the controversial crypto tax rule, and a Texas senator is introducing a BTC reserve bill. Even Italian lawmakers want banks to hold Bitcoin. Retail interest is heating up too, with ‘How to buy crypto’ searches hitting an ATH—new money is flowing in fast.

Stocks had their best week since the election, with the NASDAQ up 2%, as Trump prepares to sign 200 executive orders, including a national energy emergency declaration. He’s also set to release JFK, RFK, and MLK death records while working on unbanning TikTok after its recent ban. Meanwhile, Israel and Hamas are testing a fragile ceasefire, and China’s VP met with Musk in Washington.

In the AI and NFT worlds, AI agents saw a small drop to $14.5 billion, while Milady NFTs skyrocketed 40% after Vitalik used one as his profile pic. Fartcoin hit an insane $2.7 billion ATH before pulling back, and even CUBA, the actual country, launched a coin that’s already at $20 million. Over in AI, ai16z plans to launch humanoid robots at a wild $420k each, and SOLV debuted on Binance and Hyperliquid.
